Aliyu Jibia enrolled at Jibia central primary school, In 1963. Gained admission into the famous Government secondary school, Katsina in 1973, got admission into the then college of Art Science and technology Zaria. Aliyu Jibia later graduated from Ahmad Bello University in 1979 with a degree (combined honours) in English and Political Science. In 1981, was awarded an M.A Degree in English by the authorities of Bayero University. From 1994 to 1998, Aliyu Jibia was pursuing a PhD programme In Sudan.
His first novel "The Hunts Begins" was published by the triumph publishing Company in 1982. In 1984, was awarded a special fellowship by the "Islamic Foundation of London" to complete my second novel "The End of the Road" in Leicester. When Jerry Agada's "Five hundred Nigerian poets made its debut in 2005, Jibia's 8 poems featured in the collection, indeed the largest single contribution in the anthology, thought, first in the school of General Studies (then Department of English).
Aliyu Jibia is now a Senior lecturer in the Department of Political Science, Bayero University, After earned a Doctorate degree in political History from the international university of Africa Khartoum, Sudan. A veteran political activist, a one time National Assembly contestant and a pioneer fish farmer.
